Projected Percentage of Population
Aged 65 and Older in 2030
Florida leads the country with over 18 percent of the
population over the age of 65. Experts say that by the
year 2030, over 27 percent of Florida’s population
will be over the age of 65. That means that Florida’s
licensed drivers will also be getting older.
To ensure that we meet the challenges of Florida’s
aging population, agencies and organizations are
working together to address the safety and mobility
needs of our 65+ population.
