Changes in Driving Behavior
Family, friends, and caregivers need to be aware of
potential problems affecting safe driving when the
older adult:
r Is often forgetful or confused.
r Uses bad judgment when driving.
r Fails to follow the rules of the road.
r Cannot see where they are
going.
r Exhibits aggressive driving.
r Drives well below the
speed limit.
r Has had multiple traffic
crashes (dents or dings on the car).
r Neighbors, friends, or others indicate there is a
problem.
